Laurel House Update

Laurel House operates two transitional housing programs. Nehemiah’s Way is based out of the North Wales area while the Bridge Housing program is centered in the Norristown area. This program provides a “Bridge” between the shelter and independent community living. The goal of the program is to enable families to be more self-sufficient and to help reduce the risk of having these families return to a domestic violence situation.

Participants in this program can stay for up to two years at one of seven scattered houses/apartments. During their time in the transitional housing program, residents receive weekly case management, group counseling, life skills training, emergency financial assistance, children’s services, and connections to community resources. At the conclusion of their time in this program they are able to move out into the community and fully support themselves, however, they may maintain continue to turn to Laurel House for support and counseling service

Boys and Girls Club Update

From Bob,

"Your contribution will be used for general operations, our 2017 budget is 1.7 million to provide services to over 3,000 children at 5 locations. Our primary program is Project Learn, an afterschool homework program offered in partnership with 3 local school districts, North Penn, Souderton and Wissahickon. Children are identified and selected by each school district to participate in this free program. The school district transports these students to 3 of our building locations for the school year. We are also in 2 elementary schools in the North Penn School District, Hatfield and Oak Park. We invest over $500,000.00 each year to offer this service. Your  contribution will help offset the costs to provide this opportunity for our club members."

North Penn Rotary is a donor to Boys and Girls Club
