JULY 2020
Dear Friends:
I’m honored to be the President of the Rotary Club of North Penn for the 2020-2021 Year.
This year’s Rotary Theme is “Rotary Opens Opportunities". It is my hope that we can acknowledge those who inspire us with their deeds, and we can open up opportunities to inspire others with the service we provide to both our local and international communities.
Each year, the Rotary Club of North Penn of Rotary Club:
  • Recognizes and supports local community groups such as Manna on Main Street, Easter Seals, Kelly Ann Dolan Foundation, North Penn YMCA, North Penn Boys & Girls Club and RSVP of Montgomery County.
  • Encourages service and academic achievement in youth through achievement scholarships awarded to local high school and elementary schools, through the sponsorship of Interact Clubs (high school student-led service club) and the sponsorship of a Rotaract (college student-led service club).
  • Invests in the leaders of tomorrow by providing local students with scholarships to Rotary Camp Neidig and Pa Free Enterprise week.
  • Hosts Lansdale day, a community focused event that occurs the first Saturday in June. This is a day where folks can gather with their neighbors for fun, food, and crafts, all while making connections to their local businesses and nonprofits.
  • Continues to support international projects through outstanding Rotary programs, such as Rotaplast, the Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus, and Shelter Box.
  • Partners with other Rotary clubs to end hunger in Montgomery county by packaging meals for distribution to those in need. This year’s End Hunger event will be held on October 20th. Please reach out to us if you are interested in participating.
I’m inspired by what this club has done in the past and am excited about what we can do in the future. To paraphrase a recent article in the Rotarian, as Rotarians we care about growing our membership. This is not because we simply want to share fellowship and goodwill with more people (although that is a fun byproduct) but rather because by growing our membership, we are able to boost rotary’s capacity to make a difference both in our local community and around the world.
I ask that should you be interested in serving your community through Rotary, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.  I look forward to extending an invitation to you to join us at an upcoming meeting, or work alongside as we serve our community.
Tom Clifford
Club President 2020-2021
